I love this picture above of Jesus being our candle of light in dark times. I don't know who the artist is, but it makes me cry to think about how many times Father God was there for me during stormy times in my life.

My thought today: After talking with some people who have been going through some turbulent times lately (and who hasn't?!) I got a picture in my mind of people in an earthquake or hurricane. what do you do in such times?? You try to grab on to something stable right??? If we would grab on to the Lord, He will cause us to become stabilized in these rocky times.. He is our Rock, our strong tower, our ever present help in times of trouble.

TAKE MY LIFE AND LET IT BE....

My darling husband compiled a book about Christians who were set on fire by God in the past, entitled "A Life Well Spent". He is in the process of putting it on a CD. He read a few of the chapters to me today and one of the persons was Frances Havergal who wrote among other hymns "Take My Life and Let it Be" in 1874. It was a hymn I remember fondly from my childhood in the Episcopal church. Both Joe and I were moved to tears while he read the words to her song, so we wanted to share it with you with our love and blessings.

Here are two scriptures that fit well with being consecrated unto God... It means being set apart from the world, and humbly laying down everything you are, have, and hope to be at the feet of Jesus. It is a holy time of dying to self and all that self wants and desires for exchange for all that God wants and desires of us. God so desires relationship with us and He wants to be #1 in our lives. Above all else, before relationships, family, fame, fortune, position, ambitions, our own earthly self centered dreams and visions etc. He has good plans for our lives, He wants us to be his daughters and sons with full access to His unimaginable blessings and heavenly gifts awaiting us from His Royal Kingdom. All we need to do is to seek Him first and foremost and totally surrender to His will and His ways and all these things will be added unto us.
